The Scugog Shores Museum is pleased to offer Canada's Amazing Women, a virtual historical presentation, in partnership with Lianne Harris.
Canadian women remain our inspiration and our guidepost! Join historian and author Lianne Harris, in tribute to International Women’s Day, as she explores the fascinating lives and contributions of three Canadian women who were courageous, creative, compassionate, and just plain daring! From the forests of Quebec, to the prairies of Saskatchewan, to the farthest reaches of the Arctic, these women have a story to tell that has changed us. As explorers, humanitarians, and sod-busting farmers, we unearth our hidden heritage and celebrate a piece of our remarkable past.
Lianne Harris has been a history, culture and social studies resource specialist with the Toronto District School Board for almost 20 years, and has been the guest instructor and workshop leader for teachers across many boards in Southern Ontario. She is also the author of several books. Pre-registration is required for the presentations at www.scugog.ca/registration. The cost is $10/person, with all funds benefitting the Scugog Shores Museum. A zoom link will be sent to all registered participants one day prior to the scheduled talk. For more information please email museum@scugog.ca or call 905-985-8698 x 103.
