North House and the Region of Durham have partnered together to bring a service hub to Port Perry. The HUB aims to remove transportation and technology barriers for low-income residents of Scugog by bringing social service supports to one location, one day per month. Services include: OW/ODSP, employment services, mental health and addiction services, housing and addictions services, senior and family services, and harm reduction services. The HUB will be at Port Perry United Church every first Wednesday of each month. If you have questions about the HUB, please email ppservicehub@nortthhouse.ca.

Come join us as we celebrate Earth Week at the Scugog Shores Museum!  The Port Perry Lions are organizing a Pitch In Canada cleanup and will have compostable bags for everyone to cleanup misplaced garbage in their neighbourhoods or you can help with several areas on Scugog Island!  We will also be collecting and recycling/reusing the following items: empty pharmaceutical bottles, used eyeglasses and lenses, workable used cellphones and also pop and beer tabs.  At 12:30 pm, we will have a speaker from the Scugog Lake Stewards give a talk on improving our lake and shorelines.  There will be White Spruce and Balsam Fir seedlings available by (any) donation to the Port Perry Lions Club.  We will have a FREE draw for a rain barrel.  We will also be collecting the following items for Operation Scugog: BBQ condiments, cereal, cookies, juice boxes and toilet paper.  There may be more details coming....
