BCNS String Art Workshop Fundraiser Community Events

Learn how to make String Art with Andrea Ryan from Blissful Days Designs.

Be a part of bringing our new Hospice Care Centre to North Durham where residents and families will receive compassionate end of life care and support.

The hike/walk is suitable for all ages and abilities and is pet friendly!

Join us for your choice of a 5K route through the Uxbridge Trails and Historic Downtown or a quick 1K walk through Elgin Park.

Winding Roads brings a FREE “Live Production Fundamentals Event” to Port Perry On, May 14th from 4-6pm, at Adamson Systems Engineering, 1401 Scugog Line 6.

Youths of North Durham will have the opportunity to learn from Visiting global manufacturers from Sweden, UK and Canada. The event will be led by the Winding Roads Festival production team, who have designed systems for Drake, Imagine Dragons and Shawn Mendes. Participants will receive hands on experience in production from setup through showtime.

The Township of Scugog and the Region of Durham are hosting the annual Compost Giveaway Event at the Scugog Community Recreation Centre, 1655 Reach St., Port Perry.

Come get your free compost and make your garden happy.  Four (4) container limit per vehicle.

Bring a shovel and containers.

Green bins, blue boxes and backyard composters will be available for sale (cash only). 

Damaged blue boxes and green bins can also be exchanged at this event.

Famous Canadian Blues Band Jackson Delta Re-union Community Events

Jackson Delta are a Canadian blues band from Peterborough. They are two-time Juno Award nominees.The band members are Gary Peeples on vocals, slide guitar and dobro; Rick Fines on guitar; and Al Black on drums, harmonica and washboard. The band recorded their debut album Delta Sunrise in Memphis, Tennessee, and released it in 1989. Four more followed. The band broke up in 2000, but perform occasional reunion shows. Opening for the band is Lotus Wight. Lotus Wight is the nom-de-guerre of Toronto native Sam Allison, a songster, poet, fiddler, banjo historian and instrument creator who also makes up one-third of the ragtime trio Sheesham, Lotus and ‘Son. 2nd Annual Port Perry Lions Foundation Walk for Dog Guides Community Events

10:00 AM

The 1st annual Port Perry walk for Dog Guides was an outstanding success.  We ended up with 142 walkers and $10,131 raised.  According to the Lions Foundation this was “The best ever 1st walk.”  According to the latest  annual report we ended up 24th of 273 Canadian walks in 2018.  Out of the gate,  Top 10%.  Most important, key comments were “how much fun it was” and how beautiful Port Perry is.   This year we have added a photo booth,  gelato bar,  more goodies in the grab bag, more professional photographers, member for a day coupon for Oakridge Golf and  Pet Valu discount certificates.  The walk starts at Palmer Park with the Dukes providing entertainment, features the beautiful railway walking trail,  lakeside paths, Queen Street shopping and ends at the Old Flame Brewery where Vos Independent will be serving a BBQ lunch followed by Gelato courtesy of the Perfect Scoop.  Lots of door prizes.  You do not need a dog to walk.
