Driftwood Theatre Bard's Bus Tour Scugog Shores Museums

7:30 PM

The award winning Driftwood Theatre returns to the village to present their outdoor 'pay-what-you-can' theature event.  Driftwood is Ontario's leading outdoor summer touring company.  The company strives to break down barriers to experiencing and participating in theatre art, by bringing theatre and engagement opportunities to audiences in Ontario who may not have access to professional performance.  They have performed for over 100,000 people in venues across the province since 1995.

This year the Bard's Bus Tour is presenting Rosalynde (or, As You Like It).  Escape to the Forest of Arden for a prohibition-era comedy with love, whiskey and puppets. In William Shakespeare’s Rosalynde (or, As You Like It), Rosalynde escapes into the forest after her life is threatened. There, she embarks upon a bold journey of self-discovery and love, learning that to carve your own path, sometimes you need to break the rules. The performance begins at 7:30pm outdoors at the Scugog Shores Museum Village.

All performances Pay What You Can admission (suggested: $20-$30/person)

AND as a special bonus… Each year Driftwood Theatre hosts a resident playwright during its summer season. In 2018, emerging Canadian playwright Alicia Richardson will work alongside Rosalynde company members for five weeks, developing her play Solve for X. Join us in the Museum’s Head Church at 3:00 pm for a relaxed reading of this new play under development. All readings are FREE and open to the public.
