Mistletoe Market Community Events

9:00 AM| 1680 Reach Street

With more than 40 vendors including local artisans, handcrafters, and local small businesses you'll be able to shop local and get a jump start on your Christmas wishlist.

This event is organized in support of the Pregnancy Help Centre and includes a raffle featuring various products generously donated by our vendors. The children's programs at Emmanuel Community Church are hosting a bake sale and cafe in support of ongoing community programs offered throughout the year.

Dagmar Resort Open House and Ski Swap Community Events

Time to start thinking SNOW!
Dagmar Resort’s Open House is the perfect time to come out to the hill and speak to our friendly staff about what we have in store for this season.
We offer high quality programs that provide a fun and exciting experience for everyone. Our programs are taught by passionate, certified and caring Instructors for anyone ages 3 and up. Whether you are a never-ever or an advanced skier/snowboarder looking to improve your skills, we have the right program for you. Our low student to instructor ratio means that you will receive the attention that you need to succeed. Don’t forget to book your programs and season passes before November 4th to receive our early bird discount.
Wanting to buy or sell equipment? Kawartha Ski Patrol holds their annual ski swap at Dagmar Resort on the same weekend. There will be tons of new and used equipment to look through for all ages. A portion of all sales do go to the Kawartha Ski Patrol to assist with their funding for the season.

We will walk along the Crows Pass Side Trail/ORTA loop within Crow's Pass Conservation Area. Bring a mat, towel or sit-upon to use along the trail.

Scugog Remembers - Armistice Experiential Learning Expo Community Events

10:00 AM

One of the main events is our Armistice Experiential Learning Expo on Saturday, Nov 3rd. From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. With the generous financial support of the 100 Men of Scugog and the Callery Group, Scugog Remembers has assembled an incredible learning experience for all ages! This event will be held on the Queen Street in Port Perry with military vehicles, two WW 1 airplane flypast/air show, re-enactors, demonstrations and exhibits. A highlight of the main street will be, a 90’ inflatable military themed obstacle course sponsored jointly by Port Perry Canadian Tire and VOS Independent. This definitely is an event for everyone not to miss!

Scugog Remembers - Port Perry MoJacks Tribute Hockey Game Community Events

2:00 PM

On November 3rd at 2:00pm at the Scugog Community Centre, the Port Perry MoJacks will host their Armistice Tribute to Canada’s veterans.   In honour of Canada’s veterans, they will hold a centre ice pre-game ceremony, ceremonial tribute and wear a special hockey uniform for this event.

People who are ages 55 to 74 and have smoked cigarettes daily for at least 20 years (not necessarily consecutive) may be eligible for Cancer Care Ontario's Lung Cancer Screening Pilot for People at High Risk.

If you meet these criteria, please contact Lakeridge Health Oshawa at 905-576-8711 x4449 for information or to schedule a telephone assessment to determine your eligibility. Eligible participants will be offered screening using a low-dose CT scan of the chest along with smoking cessation services.

Scugog Remembers - Remembrance Day Ceremony Community Events

10:00 AM

The Remembrance Day Ceremony will commence at 10:30am in front of Scugog Township Hall (181 Perry Street).  We ask that you arrive by 10:00am

The Legion Parade will begin at 10am at the Library and follow Queen Street to the Township Hall.

If you wish to participate in the Silent March, please arrive at the Port Perry High School by 9:45am.  The march will follow Queen Street to the Township Hall.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies Community Events

The Port Perry Remembrance Day Ceremony will commence at 11am at the Township of Scugog Municipal Office (181 Perry Street) and Cenotaph.  Please arrive by 10:30am.

The Legion Parade will begin at 10am at the Library and will follow Queen Street to the Township Office.

If you wish to participate in the Silent March, please arrive to the Port Perry High School by 9:45am.  The March will follow Queen Street to the Municipal Office.

The Blackstock Remembrance Day Ceremony will commence at 10:30am at the Blackstock Recreation Complex and Cenotaph (3440 Church Street).

Lake Scugog Historical Society Open Meeting Community Events

Guest Speakers Elizabeth Baird and Bridget Wranich talk about their new book "Recipes for Victory," a book about cooking during the Great War, both at home and in the trenches.  The authors are both renowned cooks, and will be bringing samples of the types of food along with them.

Christmas Bird Count for Kids Children / Youth Activities

The sixth annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids is being held on Saturday, November 24. Families are invited to learn how to identify and count birds with experts. Hiking the trails, contributing to Citizen Science and feeding chickadees are highlights of the morning. You may pre-register by sending an email to: <friendsofnonquon@gmail.com> The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Nonquon Environmental Education Centre (1720 Scugog Line 10 – David Carroll Classroom).

This event is a joint initiative of North Durham Nature and Friends of Nonquon.
