People who are ages 55 to 74 and have smoked cigarettes daily for at least 20 years (not necessarily consecutive) may be eligible for Cancer Care Ontario's Lung Cancer Screening Pilot for People at High Risk.

If you meet these criteria, please contact Lakeridge Health Oshawa at 905-576-8711 x4449 for information or to schedule a telephone assessment to determine your eligibility. Eligible participants will be offered screening using a low-dose CT scan of the chest along with smoking cessation services.

Gwen Swick, Suzie Vinnick & Caitlin Hanford, three of Canada's top singer/songwriters, have combined their talents to form a riveting ensemble which will perform for the Greenbank Folk Music Society on Saturday, December 8th. Showtime: 8 PM.

Audiences love the Marigolds for their diverse repertoire, lilting harmonies and captivating instrumental work. Each Marigold brings a unique gift to the musical table and, as a group, they run with that diversity. They have fun onstage, and it shows.

Opening for them will be the delightful young folk sensation Annie Sumi.

The Scugog Shores Museum will be holding their Children’s Old-Fashioned Christmas on Sunday, December 9 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Step back in time and tour through the historic village, traditionally decorated for the holidays with evergreen boughs, bright ribbons and berries.  Children will be engaged in activities throughout the village:

• Visit with Santa Claus and his elf in the Pioneer Church from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Bake and decorate cookies in the Log Cabin
• Create unique ornaments to hang on your tree
• Decorate traditional Victorian Christmas Cards
• Visit with the blacksmith and print shop
• Explore the Museum Village on a Holiday Scavenger Hunt
