The morning will include a pancake breakfast for all ages, a children’s colouring and letters to Santa table, and an opportunity to have photos taken with Santa himself courtesy of Rachel Callan Photography.

The book and bake sale returns along with the always popular silent auction. A variety of exciting items are available to bid on including hotels and spas, such as Nestleton Waters Inn, St. Anne’s Spa and Great Wolf Lodge. In addition, there are several local and regional businesses and organizations that have donated a variety of products and services, including Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Brimacombe Ski Hill, Anytime Fitness, Kalsamrit Martial Arts Gym Port Perry, Port Perry Smokehouse, On the Reel Fish and Grill, Blazin’ Burgers, Brock’s Department Store, Branching Out Florists, Books Galore, and Port Olive Oil Co.

Cost:

$5 for an Elf Plate (1 pancake 1 piece of meat and eggs)

$10 for a Santa Plate (3 pancakes, 3 pieces of meat and eggs)

This is the largest annual fundraiser for the Blackstock Co-op Nursery School (BCNS), a non-profit organization that has been committed to providing a positive learning experience for children in the Blackstock and surrounding area for over 40 years. Play-based programs introduce children to a variety of learning experiences, enabling them to develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.

A workshop for persons with dementia and care partners

Participants will receive information and have an opportunity to share and learn about symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and the impact of receiving the diagnosis. They will also be encouraged to explore and build on coping skills and strengths.

The Scugog Shores Museum Village will be holding the Children’s Old-Fashioned Christmas on Sunday, December 8 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Step back in time and tour through the historic village, traditionally decorated for the holidays with evergreen boughs, bright ribbons and berries. Children will be engaged in activities throughout the village.

Visit with Santa Claus and his elf in the Pioneer Church, bake and decorate cookies in the Log Cabin, create unique ornaments to hang on your tree, decorate traditional Victorian Christmas Cards, visit with the blacksmith and print shop and explore the Museum Village on a holiday scavenger hunt.  Hot chocolate and apple cider will be served in throughout the day in the church.

A lovely Lasagna supper presented by the Outreach committee of Port Perry United Church follows the annual Choralfest , immediately downstairs in the Auditorium. Tickets are required for this dinner (15.00 per adult / 5.00 per child under 12) and must be purchased ahead of time at the Church office. This popular dinner is usually a sell out well in advance.
